Does FastPixel serve responsive images?
< 1 min read
The short answer is “yes,” and here’s how it works: FastPixel uses its optimization cloud to access every page that needs to be optimized and cached. It does this by using 10 browser instances with different viewport resolutions. This ensures that the optimized HTML/CSS is responsive and optimal for all major resolutions used worldwide (from old mobile phones to tablets, laptops, and large desktop monitors).
For each resolution, the images are resized to match the size of the image placeholder. They are then optimized, converted to WebP, and served based on the browser’s capabilities. (If a browser doesn’t support WebP, the original image format will be served instead.)
This approach ensures that the images on each optimized page are properly resized, optimized, and delivered in the best image format possible.
