FastPixel Now Supports Object Cache – Here’s What That Means for Your Site

We’re excited to announce that Object Cache is now available in FastPixel!

It’s a feature that can make a real difference in how fast your WordPress site feels, and setting it up is easier than you might think.

So… what is object cache, exactly?

Think of Object Cache as your site’s short-term memory.

Every time someone visits your WordPress site, your server has to fetch a bunch of information from the database – things like menu items, widget settings, and other data that doesn’t really change that often.

Without caching, your site does this work over and over again, for every single visitor.

Object Cache puts a stop to that. It stores frequently used data in memory (using a service called Redis or Memcached, which your hosting provider may already offer), so your server can grab it instantly instead of going back to the database every time.

The result is a snappier site, less strain on your server, and a better experience for your visitors.

What did we add?

Inside FastPixel, you’ll now find a dedicated Object Cache section where you can connect your Redis or Memcached service.

Once connected, FastPixel takes care of the rest.

A few highlights of what’s included:

  • Simple connection setup – just enter your Redis or Memcached details and you’re good to go
  • Flexible cache duration – you control how long data stays cached before it refreshes
  • WordPress multisite support – shared data can be cached across all your sites in a network, avoiding duplication
  • Transients stored in cache – temporary data that WordPress and plugins use gets served from memory instead of your database, which is much faster

Do you need this?

If your hosting provider offers Redis or Memcached (many managed WordPress hosts do), then yes, enabling Object Cache is a quick win for your site’s performance.

It works especially well for sites with a lot of dynamic content, membership areas, or WooCommerce stores.

Not sure if your host supports it? Check with their support team — it’s a common feature on most quality hosting plans.

Ready to try it?

Update to the latest version of the plugin and head over to FastPixel > Object Cache in your WordPress dashboard, enter your connection details, and you’re all set.

We’re always working to make FastPixel the most complete performance solution for WordPress, and Object Cache is just one more step in that direction.
